Retweet #16

CS Lewis Daily
-Christ says-I don’t want some of your time & money, I want you. I’ve not come to torment your natural self but to kill it
-Pride is spiritual cancer: it eats up the very possibility of love, or contentment, or even common sense
-No man who bothers about originality will be original: simply tell the truth & you’ll become original without noticing it
-Be found at one’s post, living each day as though it were our last, but planning as though our world might last 100 years
-We must be thankful to all the people who have helped us, but never pin your whole faith on any human being
-When we are wholly His we will be more ourselves than ever
-God whispers in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: It’s His megaphone to rouse a deaf world
-Christians don’t think God will love us because we’re good, but that God will make us good because He loves us
-I do not doubt that whatever misery God permits will be for our good unless, by rebellious will, we convert it to evil
-You never know how much you really believe anything until its truth or falsehood becomes a matter of life & death to you
-God loves us not because we’re lovable, because He is love. Not because He needs to receive, because He delights to give
-To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you
-Only 2 kinds of people: those who say to God “Thy will be done”, & those to whom God says “All right, have it your way”
-God’s love is relentless in its determination that we be cured of our sins, at whatever the cost to us or to Him
-I think God wants us to love Him more, not to love others less
