Rangers 4, A’s 3

Last night’s game was the most exciting game I’ve been to since Nellie Cruz hit his extra inning grand slam in the ALCS. In a game where Matt Harrison pitched beautifully, the Rangers bats were quiet for innings. Griffin, the A’s pitcher, was throwing a 2-hitter when he was relieved in the 7th. I thought the Rangers lost this game, but the bats came to life in the 8th. Well, 1 bat really. After the A’s reliever loaded the bases and then walked in a guy, Craig Gentry stepped up to the plate and hit a bases clearing triple that fell inches from the outfielder’s outstretched glove. The stadium exploded! Rangers came out in the 9th and finished off the game for a MLB leading 49th win of the season.

I’m still buzzing about that game last night.
